The W.B. Travis Elementary 2011-12 Spelling Bee Champion is Alexander Arredondo (pictured right) and the alternate (pictured left)is Albert Garza. The champion will compete in the Regional Spelling Bee on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at the Solomon P. Ortiz International Center.
The Travis Campus Spelling Bee will take place on Tuesday, January 24 at 9:00 a.m. in the library. Parents are invited to visit the parent room and watch the Bee.
Congratulations to Ms. Tammy Aldrich, Mrs. Jennifer Martinez, and Ms. Roseanne Hoskins! They were awarded a grant through the Corpus Christi Educational Foundation titled "Project-Based Learning Through the use of Technology". The grant, valued at $2,400, will be used to purchase a laptop, a document camera, and a projector. The equipment will be utilized in the technology lab to assist teachers in delivering instruction and in demonstrating the use of technology and multimedia tools. The students will also be able to use the equipment to create and share their products.
